My name is Jessica Björling and I am 34 years old. I live with my fiance Oskar outside Härnösand on the middle of the east coast of Sweden. We share our lives with six chows, a mastiff, a pot-bellied pig, some sheep, four budgies, two parrots, an iguana and some fish.
I grew up with labradors but fell deeply in love with the chow as a teenager. My parents gave me my first chow in 1987, the beautiful red rough Ch Haitungs Fang-Lin-Si, known as Gurkan. She did well in the rings but never bred. My foundation bitch came to be the blue rough Nickelodeons Entertain Me "Russin", who unfortunately only produced one litter. She is now a happy and playful veteran of 8 years of age. |

To me it's essential to breed as sound and healthy chows a s possible. Some may say you will lose out on type when focusing too much on health, but I know it's possible to have both. I only breed from dogs clear of HD, preferably clear of ED, clear of entropion and that have no history of ligament problems or skin problems.
Showing for conformation is a passion of mine. I love to enter the ring with my dogs and they do a bit of winning. I also handle dogs of various breeds for other people upon request. |

I love all aspects of dogshows and do a bit of judging from time to time. My ambition is to become a licenced judge in a few years time. Until then I only judge at open shows and match shows.
In 1998 I was invited to judge Sweepstakes 6-18 months at the Maple Leaf Chow Chow Club's 25th anniversary show in Toronto. This was a great honor and the photo on the left is from that occasion, showing Ch Canterbury Tail's Emelye going Best in sweepstakes handled by her breeder/owner Kim Bowden, USA. |
